14 The Underworld (The Devil)
I look at this card and it doesn't make a lot of sense at first glance. There are a red and green dragons around the edge along with some yew - Yew I see as the protector of the dead and I feel there is some protection with this card.
I walk into it..
I speak to the yew first as I need to step over it to get further into the card. "Hello, oh yew - the protector, do you hold the fort here? " "Yes we do, we shall only allow the worthy to pass beyond us and we shall repel all who seek to harm - to cause disruption to those that have died, we shall guard their peace." "Will you allow me to pass here? " I ask "Yes for we know you do so with an inquiring yet respectful heart. This is as is necessary for this journey. " "Thank you" I say

I walk a cross the threshold to the card and look up to the dragons. Of the red I ask - "What do you symbolise here?" We are the guardians of the higher realms - those of spirit and of the planes beyond this one. I am red with the remembrance of physical life and the life blood that flows through all and the energy of creation here on your planet earth." "I am green" says the other. "I am the life force of the plant kingdom and together we hold the realms close and facilitate energy transfer between them. Those who dwell on Earth both plant and animal can connect with the realms of the dead and those who now exist in a vibration that is higher than your earthly presence. We will assist you to reach these other places. "
"Heed the protection and guidance of the yew as it is that which will keep you from the depths of the underworld yourself." "Thank you - that is interesting. What would you symbolise in a reading? "We are the mediators of the world, we can help opposing sides see each others realities, facilitation of peaceful communication. " "Also we help you stay in touch with your spirit when you delve in deeply to your darkest places to retrieve what you have left there. Many leave their gold alongside the pain and trauma earthly life has given them - we help you have the courage to revisit these places and retrieve that which is useful leaving behind the rest. I move forward and approach the man standing by the tomb entrance, he has a pig by his side and is holding a staff. I feel he is friendly and approachable but hold great wisdom which he only shares when it is absolutely the right time. It is almost that someone could consider him stupid or irrelevant but he would not care and uses their perceptions as his defence. It is like he make this place not of interest to those who are not ready for its gifts of wisdom.
"Hello - you are the guardian of the tomb?" I ask "Yes I am, what is it you are seeking?" he replies "I seek to know how I can use this card in a reading, what energies it will bring to a situation and how I can learn from this now personally in my life. " "Your journey will be fruitful - you may proceed" "Thanks" I say " What do you represent? " "You know the answers to your questions - I shall leave you to make themselves know to you. " And he turned and walked away.
I feel he is a gatekeeper and one who will allow access to the realm of spirit but he will not take lessons away from the person looking. It is like he is a guide. I feel he has said I know what he would represent so I trust my feeling that in a reading he may indicate that there is a helper around the person at the time, perhaps even a relative in spirit who is helping nudge the person in the right direction.
I look to the pig, I feel somewhat bemused, but ask the pig all the same, "What do you represent here in the card? " "I am the soul of the world - I represent souls and their destination. Some would say I am spirit but it is not that - I am more knowing of how to nurture and care in a world different from the physical plane you reside in. I bring healing and protection, I offer care and love as well as the way forward... follow me." He turned and went into the tomb.
It was very dark at first and then I found myself being nudged by the pig to go towards one side where there was a seat. I sat on this seat and just looked into the darkness. As I did so it seemed to get a little lighter and then I see a figure coming towards me, a man. I recognise him as my grandfather who died when I was little.
We talk a while and he tells me about my next steps in my development, at the end I say.. "Thank you Popsie (the name I called my grandfather by)...it seems strange talking to you after such a long time, but I do appreciate it. Thank you. "
You can come to this place to experience your own peacefulness of soul too. When you are searching for answers come here to rest to reconnect with your spiritual home, you are protected while you are here, none can harm you and your images will help you find your way through whatever it is that you seek to know or to deal with. Sit in the darkness and allow the pictures to form.
I sit for a little while, just then the pig nudges me and I am given a small bead of light and told to place this just above my heart center so I do - I feel it is the seed of something growing in me, something positive, beautiful and new. Feels quite exciting.
Then I turn to leave the tomb - I feel refreshed and encouraged to go onwards with new ideas about how I need to proceed in my development. I mentally Thank the tomb for sharing its secrets with me and allowing me to meet with who I needed to. It feels very safe.
I was out into the bright light and the gate keeper is there with a broad grin on his face - I can not help but smile back - I feel he knows what I have gained and is pleased to see my response to it.
"Return whenever you need my child, for this space is always here for you. " "Thank you I will" I reply and leave the card.
As I ponder on this I feel that the card was again very personal to me and surprising in its information too. I wonder how much I will take to a reading from this yet also feel a kind of understanding about the process this card brings - like it is one of deep searching and also of the knowing that comes from stillness and acceptance. I feel it is a gentle card and one that though could present difficult images, it would always feel to be a safe space to explore them. I really felt an enormous amount of protection here, from both the energies outside of myself and those within myself too.

The readings I offer on the phone, internet, in person or by post are detailed and last between 1/2 hour to an hour, also I record them onto CD or MP3 so you can listen to them time and time again – often people find that the things I have said take on new meanings as time passes and that the information that comes through really helps as situations unfold.
Information is gained both from the tarot cards as well as psychically the two forms of guidance merging together to give insight to any situation you are concerned about, or you general future.
Readings can be done by distance onto a CD or MP3 and sent to you in the post, so there's no need to be living in my area, or need to find a time we can both be present. I offer readings Face to Face, On Skype video phone, and usual telephone, as well as distance readings without you needing to be present or available when I do the reading for your focus directly onto CD or MP3. I now offer ongoing development sessions where we use guided meditations, readings and counselling techniques of various kinds to help you develop yourself from both a spiritual and psychological point of view. Personal relationship awareness and self development
By request, I am currently developing a course focusing on psychological self development and awareness of relationship patterns of behaviour we get into time and time again, to be run later on in the year. It will be heavily based on the theories of Transactional Analysis, which is a theory that explores the games we play with each other and the internal sub-personalities of Parent, Adult and Child, with a view to becoming more authentic in our lives. The course will be held online via a forum as my other courses are. It is not connected with tarot reading specifically, however it will be useful in dealing with clients, whether tarot, healing or other supportive professional roles - particularly where you may find challenges of communication.
